For the second time running, koziol has captured this coveted award for a customized design product.
The Promotional Gift Award (PGA) distinguishes pioneering products that stand out in the promotional articles segment; the criteria are originality, innovative character and functional benefits.
The prize is awarded annually by the WA Verlag publishing house of Cologne, Germany.
The PGA 2011 in the Special Designs category has now been awarded to koziol for the development of a customized “kool kit” commissioned by the premium brands Kinder Milchschnitte, Kinder Pingui, Kinder Maxi King and Kinder Choco Fresh marketed by the Ferrero Group.
The kool kit was the centerpiece of a Germany-wide advertising campaign in which a variety of refrigerated Ferrero snacks featured proof-of-purchase seals that could be collected for a free gift. This was the kool kit with an integrated, removable ice pack designed exclusively for Ferrero.
The kit communicates the Ferrero brand values in an appealing way, while conveying tangible added value to customers through its attractive design and brand new functionality. Ferrero’s choice of koziol for this project was a well-considered one: the koziol brand values dovetail with those of the Ferrero brands advertised in the campaign. koziol stands for trustworthiness, quality made in Germany and outstanding design – and can look back on an 80-year tradition of excellence.

“Enjoy the summer with fresh, cool snacks – even if you’re out and about!” To promote this campaign headline, Ferrero wanted a snack box with a built-in cooling option.
In the promotion, a variety of refrigerated Ferrero snacks contained proof-of-purchase seals that could be collected for a free gift – the kool kit that koziol developed exclusively for Ferrero. As a special feature, the box contains an integrated, removable ice pack. It is strategically designed to transport several snacks – such as sandwiches, fruit and of course the refrigerated treats from Ferrero – and to keep everything safe and cool. This refrigerating function is a new, highly relevant feature that offers customers a valuable new benefit.
As its key visual, the box displays an Eskimo figure created specifically for the campaign. The little fellow is a fun, likeable character. But what is more, the Eskimo is instantly associated with freshness, cold and the purity of snow.
This key visual threads through the entire promotion. The Eskimo hosts the Internet site, he is the protagonist of the online game and an integral part of the banners; he comes to life in a TV commercial. Naturally he also figures on the packaging of all the participating products.
The promotion was widely advertised throughout Germany and met with such a tremendous response that the order volume had to be substantially increased shortly after the campaign was launched.
